SENIOR OPPORTUNITIES

SENIOR TRIPS    
The Recreation Dept. offers senior day trips throughout the year. Information is sent to
those on the mailing list. If you are not on the mailing list, please call the Recreation
Office at (708)748-2005 or email Carolyn Hoff with your name and address
to choff@vopf.com.

You can also receive information online by signing up for trip information
e-mail notification (choose “Parks Trips” from list).

SENIOR SERVICES
Many senior services and activities are available to all Park Forest Seniors at the Rich Township Senior Center, in
Downtown Park Forest at 297 Liberty. For more information, call 748-5454.

SENIOR LUNCH PROGRAM
BY COMMUNITY NUTRITION CENTER
Senior lunch is served at Rich Township Senior Center, in Downtown Park Forest (297 Liberty) at Noon, Monday-Friday
for $2.25 per person. Reservations are required. Call 747-2700 for more information.

If you need transportation to the site, bus service is available for $.50 each way. Call Senior Wheels at 748-6727.

SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMISSION
The goal of the Senior Commission is to act as a clearinghouse for resources for older adults and to advise the Mayor and
Board of Trustees on matters pertaining to seniors. The Commission meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m.
in the lower level of Village Hall. All visitors with an interest in issues pertaining to people over 65 are welcome to attend a meeting!

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is available for senior citizens who are Park Forest residents. Ride the Jolly Trolley at a rate of $1.50
for a one-way trip within the Village. Phone 748-4433.

Reduced fares are available for seniors using the RTA and local taxicabs. Information and tickets are available
at the Park Forest Village Hall.

Holiday Star Theatre
Free Movie Day for Seniors, Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m.
Seniors, save your Tuesday afternoons for us. Every Tuesday at the Holiday Star Theater we offer free movies
for Seniors. We play a different movie every week and the show starts at 1:00pm. After the show, we hope
you stay to enjoy complimentary treats and beverages.
